Premier Eby, don’t sell us out to MAGA billionaires
One of Donald Trump’s biggest donors is behind B.C.’s newest LNG project
The proposed “Ksi Lisims” gas terminal is supported by the Nisga’a Nation – but has no Indigenous ownership. Ksi Lisims is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Western LNG, based in Texas.
The floating terminal would be built at a shipyard in Korea, using Korean workers and Korean steel. The pipeline would be built by Bechtel, a U.S. military contractor.
The investors behind both projects are two of the biggest firms on Wall Street: Blackstone and Apollo Global Management. Blackstone’s CEO, Steve Schwarzman, is a major funder of the MAGA movement and a close advisor to Trump.
This American scheme would drive up the cost of B.C. energy bills, worsen climate instability and pit U.S. security forces against First Nations trying to protect healthy salmon rivers. Tell Premier David Eby: don’t sell us out to MAGA billionaires.
