Energy Minister schedules private meeting with Fernie council
The City of Fernie was advised today by Bill Bennett, local member of the provincial legislature, that the Minister of Energy Richard Neufeld, his deputies, and Derek Doyle, the Commissioner for Oil and Gas development, will meet privately with selected officials and citizens tomorrow evening, May 27, and Friday morning.
All events take place at the Park Place Lodge in Fernie.
Thursday evening at 7 p.m., the ministerial delegation will meet with the available mayors and councillors of Fernie, Sparwood, and Elkford.
Friday morning at 7 a.m., the ministerial delegation will meet with invited citizens, including Ted Ralfe of the Citizens Concerned about Coal Bed Methane. Ted has been asked to nominate two other citizen participants for advance approval by Mr. Bennett.
Friday morning at 9:30 a.m., the minister delegation will be available to answer questions from the news media.
There is no provision for an open public meeting with the minister and his officials. However, anyone with a question they would like to have put to the minister should please advise Ted Ralfe at tedlaw@elkvalley.net.
