Media advisory: First Nations, allied groups to hold announcement on Enbridge

Members of the press are invited to attend a joint announcement in Vancouver by a coalition of First Nations and civil society groups. Representatives from the following organizations will speak on the topic of the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline and oil tanker project:
- Coastal First Nations, an alliance of nine First Nations on B.C.’s North and Central Coast
- Dogwood Initiative, B.C.’s largest nonpartisan democracy group
- Unifor, Canada’s largest private-sector union
- West Coast Environmental Law, B.C.’s legal champion for the environment since 1974
- Douglas Channel Watch, a local volunteer group in Kitimat
- One Cowichan, a citizen group on Vancouver Island
When: 10 a.m. Pacific Time, Monday June 16
Where: Coastal First Nations boardroom, suite 1660 – 409 Granville St, Vancouver
Spokespeople from each group will be in Vancouver and available for individual interviews following the wrap-up of the news conference.
