Farewell, Burnaby office!
We moved out of our home above the carwash, and into a new community space downtown
After three years in our office at 6123 Hastings, at the back of the Tim’s parking lot — we’ve moved!
As many renters have no doubt experienced, there were trials (eg. the “meat-locker” episode during the snowpocalypse of 2017, when the heating broke down). But they were drowned out by so many wonderful memories we built at the Burnaby office with our staff, volunteers and community.
Thank you to everyone who filled this quirky space of ours with community, people-power vibes.
We have loved sharing a neighbourhood with so many dedicated residents of Burnaby North. So many of you have dropped in to pick up flyers and petitions or share your stories and concerns. And after years of holding canvass trainings here, we know all the immediate neighbours have heard from us a lot about oil tanker expansion.
Fear not — our community organizing work in Burnaby will continue even as our Lower Mainland base shifts downtown. Our staff organizer Mike, alongside dedicated volunteers like Lisa W., and Maria and Emma at SFU, will continue to work with the incredible community and volunteer network here to build democratic power and hold elected officials accountable. And we’re always looking for more folks to join us!
Our new home at 312 Main Street is transit accessible from throughout the Lower Mainland. We look forward to hosting our volunteer and donor community soon for the annual summer gathering — stay tuned.
Check out our new digs!
I’ll miss the old digs. BTW: I still have a set of keys from the “old digs”.
